Our Services Are Free

HAPHousing serves as the administrative agency for a state-funded initiative called the Western Massachusetts Foreclosure Prevention Center, which is a collaboration of 15 regional partners in Berkshire, Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties. The center has a single mission: to help homeowners avoid foreclosure.

Our counselors are experts in foreclosure prevention and trained to set up an immediate plan of action. Counselors will arm you with education and support that assists you in overcoming immediate financial issues. Document Checklist

When you call or come to see a counselor, please have the following information ready:

  • Name of your mortgage company
  • Your mortgage number
  • The amount of your mortgage and how much you owe in arrears
  • The amount of your income

Avoiding Scams

The Western Massachusetts Foreclosure Prevention Center is a state-funded and state-monitored program that is run by local nonprofit agencies qualified to counsel homeowners on their options.
